Thank you for your interest in The Master's Way Karate. The student will learn American Freestyle Karate taught by a Christian instructor in a Christian environment. The student will be exposed to and be expected to learn Biblical lessons as well as the physical aspects of Karate.

Class Structure

Karate in its truest form was void of religion. Peasants that needed to defend themselves from invading armies that restricted basic freedoms created it. It wasn't until more recently (couple hundred years) that mysticism and Eastern religion became center in the dojo (training hall). Today many students get caught up in that mysticism and turn away from their faith or never establish a relationship with Christ. Sensei Britcher is an instructor in American Freestyle Karate as well as having studied various other styles of martial arts. He is also a member of the Gospel Martial Arts Union. His goal is to offer instruction free of the secular way of thought and keep the focus on Christ. We will also explore martial artists in the Bible and learn how God used them.
.The student will be able to earn a black belt if they so desire, but more importantly, they will be introduced to Christ. From there anything is possible. There is no fee for class. The student will need to purchase a gi (training uniform) after a few weeks. There will also be a small fee for rank testing to pay for certificates and rank belts. Donations will also be accepted with all going towards equipment needs or back to the church.
All classes will be open to the parent, or if the parent wants they can also attend. The student must have reached 5 years old to attend (exceptions will be made at the discretion of Sensei Britcher).

About Sensei Britcher
Sensei Corey Britcher hold Yodan (4th degree) black belt rank in American Freestyle Karate. He has been studying various styles of Martial Arts since the early 1990's and is a member of the Gospel Martial Arts Union. He is also a certified Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics Instructor. He is a member of the Newburg First Church of God and runs the Karate class as an outreach ministry of the church.
